About

BuggyGirl provides stewardship-based land management and recycling services centered on long-term performance, continuity, and care. Our customized, flexible approach supports land and material stewardship beyond initial cleanup or installation and across changing operational conditions.

What We Do

We support land stewardship through:

  • site-specific assessment and strategic framing
  • stewardship-oriented planning and coordination
  • long-term performance monitoring and learning

Services are adapted to project conditions, regulatory context, and partner capacity, with an emphasis on durability, accountability, and measurable outcomes.

What Makes This Different

BuggyGirl is not a landscaping contractor, plant supplier, or volunteer-dependent program. Our work focuses on designing and supporting stewardship frameworks that function sustainably over time, reducing dependence on constant intervention.

Specific technical approaches and operational structures are developed on a project-by-project basis and implemented through formal partnerships and agreements.

Who We Work With

  • municipal and public agencies
  • planning, forestry, and public works departments
  • nonprofit land stewards
  • property owners with long-term land responsibility

Our goal is simple: sustainable, resilient stewardship-based management that continues to perform under real-world constraints.

Representative native species selected for durability and site performance.

Prairie dock (Silphium terebinthinaceum) is a deep-rooted native perennial known for its large, sturdy leaves and exceptional drought tolerance. Its extensive root system helps stabilize soil and access deep moisture, while its tall flowering stalks support pollinators, making it well suited for long-term land stewardship and resilient landscape applications.

Thinleaf coreopsis (Coreopsis verticillata) is a hardy native perennial with fine-textured foliage and long-blooming yellow flowers. It is drought tolerant once established, supports pollinators, and performs well in a range of site conditions, making it a reliable choice for low-maintenance land stewardship and soil stabilization.

Purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) is a hardy native perennial valued for its deep roots, drought tolerance, and long-lasting blooms. It supports pollinators and beneficial insects while establishing reliably across varied site conditions, making it well suited for durable, low-maintenance land stewardship and restoration efforts.

Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta) is a widely adapted native perennial known for its bright yellow blooms and tolerance of a range of soil and site conditions. It establishes quickly, supports pollinators, and provides durable ground cover, making it a practical choice for site stabilization and visible, low-maintenance land stewardship.

Hoary verbena (Verbena stricta) is a resilient native perennial well adapted to dry, compacted, and disturbed soils. Its upright growth and extended bloom period provide reliable support for pollinators, while its tolerance of harsh conditions makes it a strong choice for low-maintenance land stewardship and site stabilization.

Missouri evening primrose (Oenothera macrocarpa) is a low-growing native perennial known for its deep taproot, drought tolerance, and ability to thrive in poor or rocky soils. Its large yellow blooms support pollinators, while its spreading form helps stabilize ground with minimal long-term maintenance, making it useful for resilient landscape and stewardship applications.

Geum triflorum (Prairie Smoke): A hardy native perennial valued for its deep roots, drought tolerance, and ability to stabilize soil. It supports pollinators early in the season and adds visual interest with minimal maintenance, making it well suited for long-term land stewardship and restoration sites.
